Lead Acid battery (Deep cycle) is designed to give a number of cycles (discharge - recharge) depending on 2 main factors - DOD and temperature.

DOD = Depth of charge. Deep cycle batteries can go down to 80% DOD but this would reduce their cycles considerably. A battery should not be discharged more to 50% on routine use. Even for Deep Cycle 50% is a lot. If you dont discharge more than 30% the cycles double or tripple. Ex - 50% DOD =~ 500-700 cycles     --   30% DOD =~ 1000-1500 cycles
Now to know the state of a battery you need a Battery monitor otherwise an approximate calculation is to check the voltage at no load
12.6V =~ 100%  --  12.3V =~ 70%   --  12.0V =~ 50%   --  11.7V =~ 30%

The other main factor is temperature.  Lead acid batteries are disigned to operate at 25C. Using a battery at 40C gives more energy but reduces the cycles by half. So keeping the battery away from heat sources if very important.
