Does anyone know if there is a place where you can refuel up north close to st paul's bay please? Is the fuel reliable or is it woth carrying over 100lts. of petrol in gerry cans?

Closest place is Mgarr, Gozo all the way in. He has slightly weird opening hours,

Monday - Saturday 9am - 5.30pm and Sunday like 9.30am - 4pm
Telephone: 21 562400

No surcharge for coming along side and fuel prices I believe are the same as normal pump prices.

The guy in Xemija was shut down for ripping people off, and causing spills in the water.

Shanook,
How does one go about refuelling at M'xlokk.  The truth is, I'm sick and tired of having to pay an extra charge of 8,40Euros just to come along side and 10c more per litre at the fuel barge in M'xett habour.

M,xlokk go inside the harbour keeping to the port side (left hand side going in). just past the big four wheel hoist (crane) there is a small jetty and u will see the gas pumps. If the guy is not there u can always call him on mob. the number is on the pumps. fill up and hey prsto u have a heavier boat and a lighter pocket LOL.

The_Gaffer

So you just come alongside, and if the guy isn't there you call him on his mobile, and thats it.  Brilliant, now for the iceing on the cake, and extra hidden charges, and is there a markup in the normal price of diesel?

lol shanook... If I was that rich I would buy your boat with diesel engines and be even richer.... Thanks for the info guys. it looks like it's better to carry the gerry cans as I'll need an extra ?20 just to go for the fuel.... better use them going down to Filfla...

Bloody hell Benri your boat must guzzle fuel. At 21 knots I used exactly 6 litres running from the fuel station at Mgarr all the way to my berth at Beachaven. It was basically on the way back from fishing so not a hassle at all really, and far easier in my opinion than dealing with jerry cans all the time!

benri

Yep... It's quite a guzzler unfortunately. I think I exaggerated a bit with the ?20 but I calculate offhand that I need at least ?15. (Maybe a bit more than cruising  ;D)

Thanks Shanook, one last thing, is the station open on a Sunday?, also, what are the opening times of the station during weekdays and saturdays
