Yepp do what gaffer told you. Although id go for a smaller size of hook as a 9 is quite big. A mustad tas sieq twila size 12 is mor than enough. During the day use size 0.25 mono but at night you can easily use 0.35. in the reel 0.40 is more than enough and ideally you shold have at least 150 - 200m of line in the reel as some places tend to be deep and the further away you cast the deeper it gets.
