Awesome Ed, wow really impressed. Gives you a feel of being down there as well and what a fantastic way of promoting the sport for those who might be thinking of giving it a try. It's like you're flying seeing you bank and turn.

Very thrilling to watch, big thumbs up :)

Thanks Jonathan and Nick.

Its hard to dive with the camara on the gun cos there you increase the friction in the water and after doing all that dives going up and down you will feel the difference and makes you feel tired. But when you see the results its realy nice. Even for me, when I m back home I can see my mistakes and this helps me too but the most inportant is that I don t only shoot and take fish at home but have a recorded event that by passing time mits a nice thing to see.

The video of the baracudas is really amasing, pitty that the battery was flat but at least I had a short time to record something. This week it looks like having a lot of wind and this was necissary cos there wasn t so much fish activity this month. This wil bring up new current so lot of fish. Hope we heve somewhere where to make a dive so I try to get some more videos.

Skip, as you said this is a really promotion for our sport and I wish that others make the same as me, so we share our dive with whome cannot do it.

Nice work!!!. I particularly liked the last clip where you managed to also get your self in on the action as well. i suggest you get yourself a good editing package now so that you can add captions and music also. To avoid you losing time, and maybe fish you can start filming before your dive, then edit out what is not relevant. I use a programme called 'ULEAD' here but l am sure there are many to choose from.

I look forward to more clips from you in the near future. And by the way the visibility is fantastic!

Keep them comming!!!
We're here for a good time...Not a long time

Tks twoutes, infact I use the windows movie maker mand this helps me a lot. I did t put music cos its nice to hear the sea and than the bang og the gun. Also this helps me to know where I do mistakes.

As for the visibility, There I was at Ghar Lapsi known for its clear waters, and can say that for the last 4 years the visibility decresed a lot. Infact there are days that even cannot see the end of your gun. I don t know why but I think the quarry is involved in this. Infact I dont give more than 5 years and over there the sea bed will be dead

Seahunter

Nice clips Dward!  Looking forward for more of these!!!

By the way, I also noted visibilty getting poorer over the years, not only in Lapsi but all around our coast.  It used to be so good, and nowadays, its getting poorer and poorer.

wait and see after the smart city.

A friend of mine told me that when they had started to build the freeport, on the opposite side of the islans at Dwejra the visibility decresed a lot.

In some currents in front of the reverse of mose at Ghar Lapsi one can see all that dust in the water but no body said anything. When feediver caught that grouper, that day the see was like that and we could taste thedust (ix xahx) from our snokle. It look like somthing with the table water.

For the visibility this happens also when after some rain at gozo at the point opposite S Maria Bay of comino under the querry.

These are things that in the parlament they should rase up about the envirenment and not for us who go there and enjoy our free time.

Next time I be there and see these things I will take some pictures, but sure there are a lot of people who knows this.

Seahunter did you went diving yesturday after I saw you. At lapsi it was too rough and infact I could nt go in with all that current from SE

baghira

Great respect for you buddy (emic).

I was thinking of posting some new thread in this forum but as you said, I will mention it here. Its a pitty that there are so many spearos, (probably also fishermen, but that's not my line of sport), who are also members of this forum, but whom never participate into any event, or never post neither a phrase, or any photo of nice catches, and that's a pitty. It's not beneficial to the forum, not to be involved in it, or else to get only the news, and never post an opinion.
For sure there are other spearos whom in a particular occasion got a nice fish and took a picture, but whom never post it. The reasons for this may be various like:
* maybe one in shy, or maybe he is not so computer literate (so maybe they would also like to be more active)
* others are so keen and do not want to show any of the surroundings, not to disclose any details of their fishing grounds
* there is also the tendency amongst others, that the more professional you become, the less details you have to give, and post, so if you do not post any pictures, this means that you became the king of seas.

Come on, we do it as a sport in a nice friendly environment, and if you are mature and responsible, join in, and say what you want to say.

I am also sure that there are others saying 'Dan kemm ihobb jidher??', but I say well done emic. This is a very nice an positive side of you, and I admire you for you capabilities, dedication, a time spent doing what you love to do. Keep it up, and once again well done.

When I started I use to go normally on sundays, while my dad was fishing with his small boat I use to go for octopus. Thn once he found a speargun, bought a new spear and started up. When I was 16 I bought a new gun, I remember an esclapese still in well use, and from then I started up. Then Simon G had made a competion which I took place in it where still I was a beginer, but I remember that we had the biggest octopus catch. That day there was a guy from Zurrieq (Franco) and told me that I was doing mistakes, first I needed an apnea suit and so on. These where only few words he told me while he was giving me a lift home and starting getting my equipment, I started up. Infact he is a good friend of mine but we never had the opurtunity to dive together.

From that day I meet a lot of friends and real friend who try to help everyone as he can and cos of this I m not shy to show my catch.

A thing I don t like here in Malta is that there is no information about this sport, infact when I get out from the water I always hear the same words "you caught them with scuba diving???"
In Italy, its completelly different. They have the word apnea in their mouth and they help each other. As for places, yes there are guys who tells me not to show or not to put pictures cos they are afraid of taking them THEIR fish. Infact there are people that doesn t even took me once cos they are afraid of this, and on this I fall loughing...

Maybe you are 20 ,30 ,40 ,50 ,60 years old and you don t want to share your nice moments? Don t worry then, you take them with you under the sand

this is my reason I post here and in another forum in Italy where ther they help me with all my dificulties. A lot of spearos know about the gun with a mouted camera on it, but how many here can give advice on it? When I write somthing that means that I used it and know its performance, and for us who spend a lot of money in our hobby this is a thing that everyone should start doing

This is our sport and as baghira said:

Come on, we do it as a sport in a nice friendly environment, and if you are mature and responsible, join in, and say what you want to say.

and as for:

I am also sure that there are others saying 'Dan kemm ihobb jidher??' You know me well. If the roof is getting down I just move apart and keep walking relax  ;) ;) ;) I don t care for who thinks Im like that cos that meens he doesn t know me. When there are guys with me a lot of times I gave them the chance to catch the fish and tell them my opinion. I don t care if I do the catch or my buddy, the inportant think is that we take our chance and enjoy the dive.
