I know this might be kind of a stupid topic for guys with expirience , but have you ever tried those sinkers which have green pipes stuck to them ? i suggest you try them because they're really good for bottom line fishing ! I have quite a few of them , what's so good about them is that they dont get stuck to rocks on the bottom - they really work ! try them out , especially if you use the paternoster rig ( which is pretty much what i use all the time , apart from running ledger) . i hope this has been of some help to those who , like me , hate getting their sinkers stuck to the bottom !

aw sergio,

there's another slow sinker which doesn't get stuck too much

the BOMBARDA

they are not really cheap as you get them for around 75c each but work relly good I love them

hi placebo
i use the bombarda mainly in ports as it is slow sinking and you target more fish then just a lead for example you catch kahli from the surface or mid water and also if you bounce it on the bottom you cover a larger area and create more interest from the fish i have caught nice tracni this way from rinella and in the same day pagell and spnott

that is the best thing in fishing! learn learn and learn....this forum can help you learn at least one new thing everyday on fishing. Then you can try on your own.

It's the best thing to do always try on your own and experiment the beatiful and the joy of fishing.

well, the sad thing...is waking up like this morning and on your way to work notice what a beatiful day it is to try offshore. ::) ::) ::)

It's a nice day offshore so far, but the wind is due to pick up to a moderate and there's still yesterday's annoying swell out there. I think Wednesday will be the best day so far this week for Bigger game offshore, this weekend is going to be terrible, very windy.

However with sea temps still low, any ppl catching Big Game fish are simply lucky as those fish won't come in until the sea temp goes up to 24. Think we are going to have a bad season in that respect.

something for sticky places

when i go fishing in extremly rocky places i use a balloon filled with sand instead of lead as it is cheaper and when it gets stuck all you do is pull and it tears out
this is very usefull when you have a fish on that you dont want to loose

what i also do some times is fill the balloon with water
might sound silly but it works
good luck boys

Plain old party balloons!

placebo

hey skip! do you mean to use the baloon as a sinker?
I can't get into this one! Are you referring for coastal rod fishing?

yep the balloon is used as the weight with the advantage of getting pierced on a rock etc. Haven't done it myself but I know what Simon means. I use balloons to suspend baits at certain depths for big game when drifing
