Title: Night boat fishing from a 13ft boat powered by 9.9
Post by: Mayer on June 16, 2008, 22:22:55 CET
Hi Guys,

I would like to try night fishing from the boat and as a try I will go in the port. I would like some tips on what type of fishing I could use ex: deep fishing (ghal tall qiegh) or maybe trawling for lizz or some other type of fish? If I do bottom fishing what bait should I use? I go bottom fishing with the boat usually during the day and use Shrimps. Are they still good for night bottom fishing? And also what line should I use for night fishing? I will be going with a small 12feet aluminum boat powered by a 9.9.

Thanks!

a 12 footer with a 9.9 is ideal for night port fishing. you can easily go in restricted areas without being noticed. if you find a well lightened place by spotlight you can spend a whole night teasing barracudas with lures and it can be well productive. menatime if u intend bottom fishing you can use a pater noster rig 0.20mm ideal for ports and use ragworm as bait (hniex tal kaxxa) u can also use yabbies (Ckal) or other baits such as hniex tal imperjal. i prefer ckal and hniex tal kaxxa for night port fishing.

port fishing in night can be very entertaining ... we do some good catches in birzebbuga.

there's a whole lot of lures good for barracudas. just go for a 10cm size and try out different colours and models.

you can also try live or dead bait there are some videos on you tube on how to set them up.
