As sajjiedf2 posted, if you want to upload to the gallery you will need to become a paid member, either Premium ?8 per year or VIP ?20

sajjied its not a matter of making money but to have this forum going it costs money and the more photos that are uploaded and the more members posting the more space that needs to be bought for the forum t function.
Thanks for our support of the forum
regards

@shanook- I never said that its a mattar of making money that the forum decided to make these new rules. I know that the forum needs money so it can be run in the right way. I think you misunderstood me ;)

I was chatting about this with some forum members last night, I would have liked to leave the gallery open but the amount of disk space and annual bandwidth required per month has grown beyond expectations.

One option was to remove the old pictures but that would be a shame, or to remove pictures where people have uploaded 3 or 4 of the same thing, but this would be a very labour intensive process. Premium membership is very reasonable at ?8, which is under Lm3.50 a year. You get a professional forum card, a 20% misterfish discount voucher and 10% everytime at various places like Misterfish, Ta' Bormla, Winesdirect and the list is growing all the time. Plus reduced entry fee in competitions and certain online privildges.

I think we are giving an incredible amount back to the local community by keeping the forum free for people to browse, read and learn at no cost. Out of the 1000 online members there are another 3000 people who browse this forum on a monthly basis, reading but never registering or posting. I assure you they are learning alot and putting it all to good practice.

Register online for free and you can create new topics and reply to existing ones and view the gallery.

If you want to upload pictures you need to be a paid up member, but at least there are various free levels which still give you alot of options. I can't promise that access to the forum will remain free forever, but I would like to keep it that way for as long as possible. If we had to 'bill' for the time spent running the forum by myself and the moderators, then probably everyone would need to pay some kind of member fee to cover the costs.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, just a general comment for all to read.

Granitu

the membership is worth guys considering an avid fisherman would save up approx 100 euro a year on fishing gear, not bait obviously there a no discounts on that
Good season so far.....

Thats right Granitu, think of it this way , one of the give aways is a one time 20% discount voucher from Mr Fish, If you buy 1 good rod of circa 100 Euro, you would have already gotten back the 20 euro you gave to the forum + apart from the one time 20% dis voucher you have a continuous discount of 10% from various stores which is no joke considering how expensive our beloved hobby is. What is 8 or even 20 euro when we spend 100's of euros a year on tackle... Just my opinion.

hey thats a good idea wahx i think, whilst browising i've come across the same fish in 5-10 differant angles and posing with one or 2 models, lol... that would be a good idea.... but everyone must do their own bit and sort out their own photos, not to waste the moderator's precious time....
