How to post attachments from now on

Currently pictures are attached to a post and then embedded, but with this new system they are arranged in albums amd provide plenty of fields to put information. All members have rights to add pictures, and forum moderators will need to approve them before they appear. Special Members (previously Friends of the MFF) have their pictures auto-approved as well as people with more than 50 posts.

In case you're wondering how people become special members, they are either known personally to the forum administrators, or met the forum team in person at one of the events that was organised.

If you want me to add new categories in the gallery please place the request by replying to this post so that the new album is created, however these in general will not be personal albums.

There is no longer the need to attach photo's anymore to posts, in fact you can no longer attach pictures (only pdf, word, txt etc) but if you want to also display your pictures within the post in the photo's of your catch section, you can after uploading them to the gallery.

Please use the insert image button which is in the second row, 2nd in from the left (above the smileys when are making a post). When you do that you will get img /img in between square brackets.

Insert the URL to the picture you uploaded within the gallery in between, the image tags so after img URL in here /img 

If you want to only display the thumbnail then go to the album, right click on the photo and copy that URL, something like http://maltafishingforum.com/talk/gallery/thumb_1_09_02_08_11_17_44.jpg otherwise if you want to display the full size photo, open it in the gallery right click on the image properties and copy/paste the URL http://maltafishingforum.com/talk/gallery/1_09_02_08_11_17_44.jpg

Hopefully everyone will like this new gallery system and it should make it easier for people to see the photo's of the fish we catch.

It's harder at the begining but once you get used to it, it's very easy to do image links. With pictures within posts they get lost in the pages of posts as time goes on.

A gallery application provides a much neater method of presentation plus as the forum is growing it allows us more MB space for images as the built in attachments within the actual forum have some limitations. These can be addressed but we're then talking about additional money which with the upcoming hosting renewal costs which need to be paid by me I dont really want to be spending extra money.

Will add the new galleries. If anyone has problems puting nested links within their post let me know so I can explain.
