we use the Mini Mundial Dagger

It has to Velcro rubber straps, 1st its very easy to wear it, 2nd we really give it lots of work, and 3rd and not less it does not make noise while doing aguato at the bottem. As for rust mine doesn t have but can say that I use it everyday so even if it rust I cannot know.

I think that dive systems can supply only the Velcro rubber straps so can put all types of knifes.

For safety reason I will prefare to have always 2, one on my left hand and the scond on my weight belt from where I can reach it from both hands

The knife is this one used in this pic.

I have a knive like the one Emic mentioned and I find it very sharp and handy.  I have it always attached to my leg.

Small comments from my end. My 2 cents.

As to what seahunter said. I do not agre for a knife on the leg. Too hard to reach for spearfishing. I second emic for maiking use of 2, one on hand and one on belt. I do use a similair knive attached to the weightbelt.

I also use the minilaser. It is very comfortable and I have the velcro straps. I found out also that it slips, but 2 min. DIY job, and done. Just cut off the velcro and sew a pice of black rubber (used for sewing Underwear, commonly found from haberdashery stores (do not know if i spelled it right) :P) It does a perfect job, not too tight, and does not fall off. better than the new rubber straps which I find too hard also. This knife is really comfortable.\
Two drawbacks of this knife:
1. not the fact that it rusts, (since on its label there is written that it rusts), but not sharp as others.
2. The plastic makes some noises when doing aguato, if hit to the rock. I would have preferred if its cover was a bit rubberised.

Having said this, I still use this knive, and until now, I found no better one, made for this purpose.

Guys

Thanks for the help.

I was thinking of adding a knife to mu arm because I thought that If i got entangled there are two things to do.

Take of weights and cut with a knife the problem.  The issue was all here.  If I needed to take of the weight belt and thus the knife what should I do then.  And that is why of the 2nd knife.

As what regards to tying it to the leg I feel that any obstact from the waist downwards is all hazardous.

Thanks

Use to keep the knife with the belt for along time , but now i m keeping it with my left arm for these last ten yrs which i found much more practical . I would  not even considare it on my leg.
If I give you a fish I'll be feeding you once, if i'll show you how I caught it I'll be feeding you for ever.

Granitu

on the contrary, i like it on my legs

i hate it on my arms or legs, too bulky. i have the mundial dagger
Good season so far.....

Granitu, If you try a small Knife (something like the minilaser)  I'm sure you'll change your mind.   8)  Although as mentioned before, it needs to be washed after dives.

Granitu

should give it a try sometime

I m sure if you ll give  it try you ll change your mind granitu . you just need to sew two pieces of rubber used for clothes about 2cm thick and off you go.
