this is a lowrance HDSx5

The HD models are nothing like my LMS but I'm inclined to say that you have the gain/sensitivity turned up too high. Aside from lots of baitfish which would be packed tighter and small returns, I thought fish were supposed to have more horizontal returns rather than vertical ones.

Tony go to caruana and tell him to show you how to set the hds properly. Do u have problems with you gps??? I have my cursor stuck in the same position for several minutes even when I turn it will stay in the same position!!! When i change the page and than I go back to the chart it will turn good. I will contact simon about this problem

probably thats not fish signals but some kind of clutter. I will try to get more shots with different settings. But i am mainly interested in the bottom interpretation (rock, sand etc)

Get a picture of the full depth first since those pictures seem to show only the last 50m.

moonwalker i keep it that way as I was only interested in seeing the bottom contour for deep sea fishing..........mid water activity i am no really bothered at the moment.

Moonwalker

Yes but with the full screen you can tell if it is noise or fish.
