have just returned to wales from a month in malta and couldn,t wait to see the news on the new rules.I agree with some of the other contributers that 5 posts a year is more realistic. On a different subject skip mentions the cost of running the forum, and the need to attract sponsorship, would it be rude to ask how much it costs per year? Perhaps i could help with the costs. rgards to all,  redbus9

dear redbus,

You are very kind in being willing to aid us (skip and fin) in some manner. We are making shortly a summary of how much time and costs all this is taking us. Although we are very happy to have created this maltese first forum and run it too we feel we are not in position to ask for any financial contributions directly except for possible sponsorships through adverts or bartering certain services. We have always been of the idea to want to give something back to the fishing community and possibly we might be of the idea sometime to start making in a small scale some possibly merchandise of our own.

Feel free to contact us anytime should you have any ideas you would like to share

Just to add to this fin, redbus has managed to find a company that can make printed T-Shirts, baseball caps etc and kindly provided us with a sample. I think this would be the best way to go to help contribute towards the running costs by purchasing some forum merchandise.

It's one of the things we will be discussing when we meet up.

Hi I am browsing the site after some months since I was and still am very busy at work. I under stand that to run the site costs money and time so I appeal to all to make an effort and think how this could be done. To be honest I never thought of the issue myself since I always go into the site and it works. If we all want this to remain the same we must make an effort to assist those who originated this site and keep it running.Re the funding I think that the merchandise idea is good but may not be enough to support the cost. I suggest that if we want the site to run we must all think how we can contribute. Another option is for all of us to do some advertising of the site by telling friends to log on and become members. This will give strength of numbers to our 'advertising claims' with leading supplies ( we can also agree to retain reciepts ,pool them and present them to the supplier to prove our purchasing power). Other options is for all of us to look for individual donations from companies etc.I know that these are just ideas and may not work but I we all think about this issue when we    are not fishing we might find some solutions. Re a donation I think I can get a small one from my company so contact me and I will explain.

This forum is a source of good information and networking for all its members. In regards to funds however l suggest that provisions are made where members can conrtibute a donation or even goods worthy of being sold on the site (Auctions are fun) to help for running costs. Just my 2 cents worth.

Hi Guys, I agree that members should be left free to participate at free will. 5 posts per year is more than fair, at least we know that member is still alive!!
The whole concept of the forum I think should be to promote fair sport fishing, and educate the members, this by setting good examples.
I'm sure there are those who just follow up and not participate. I don't think I'll have that problem once I find time to open computer
