no freedive if the weather is bad then it gets canceled for another day, off hand I dont have the date but I am sure it was posted as I wont be here if weather is bad on the 29th. The idea is to have a friendly competition and the First Priority is safety.....We cannot just think of the bigger boats that can take some weather but also of the smaller ones taking part..........

back up dates are 3/4th July and 10/11th july if the 29 is rough

Well done to all the organizers, and every body that is participating.
Hope the weather is favorably and lots of tight lines and screaming reels on the day.
Most importantly...remember to have fun...its the main reason we all decided to get into fishing in the first place.

Good luck!
We're here for a good time...Not a long time

Well done to all for attending the Oris competition meeting.......it was a spectacle to see all those participants together. Personally I enjoyed meeting old friends and getting to know new ones. It was a well organised meeting and the familiarity between participants was more than obvious. The safety briefing both in English and Maltese were to the point and very well delivered by Fin and Joe respectively.
All that we need now are the fish and the weather.......

The_Gaffer

Thank you all for making yesterday's briefing a success.  The venue was overwhelmed with skippers and their crew. I do appologise for not taking time out to have a word with most of you, however we needed to get everybody registered and the briefing completed.  I can assure you though that the response to this competition leaves me, the organisers and sponsors with a deep sense of satisfaction and that our efforts to put the ORIS Alongi Competition on the local calander has been been a huge success.  Thank you all.

I tallied up the registration forms last night and can confirm that we have 56 boats entered for the 29th June which is a fantastic turnout. Like Joe, I'm sorry I wasn't able to speak to most of you but we all had our head down checking registration forms and receipts.

I would of course like to thank all our sponsors for making this event possible, and our competition officials who were busy yesterday evening helping out with the organisation. Fin for the safety brief, Joe for going through everything in Maltese and covering the rules and Antoine and his team.

We now have a week left to finalise logistics and make this event one to remember :)

I agree, a very good turn out for the safety briefing last night, a big thank you to the organisers and sponsers, for what I am sure will be a very succesfull competiton.

Those of you who didn't get all their T-Shirts or any at all, we will be handing those out to you at the inspection point on the day of the competition.
