very interesting sea trial. I will do my best to manage a sea trial. i will let you know as this BWA 850 has been sold and delivered to owners.

As you can be aware of, the performance of the engines is also related to the hull weight and shape on which they are mounted on. According to specs i have verified the BWA PLATINUM 850(28ft6) is 3.5m (11ft7) wide and over 2 tons in weight while the Zodiac 850 is only 27ft and 9ft10 wide. All this will make a difference in performance. All RIBs are designed in a different way and design outright. The BWA PLATINUM 850 is exclusive in it's field with very deep V Hulls, extra wide and elegant design keeping in mind rough seas.

Will be interesting to see a comparison as they are both 2 stroke Direct Injection Engines and both have a great following of people with the Optimax's being well known for speed and racing applications.

I think it would be a very interesting sea trial to conduct the same comparison so we look forward to seeing it Nichol Smiley

Hi Nicky,

We are currently in discussions with the owner of the new BWA 850 powered by the Optimax 225Hp set. we are awaiting the green light for a sea trial date and time. Will keep you posted.
