Guinness World Record Holders “Most Participants in a Sea Angling Competition” Following the great success when the Blue Sea – Puttinu fishing festival saw 812 Anglers taking part at Marsaskala last September 19th, the final and conclusive results are now confirmed. After the evaluation made by the official observers to verify that all anglers were according to the record breaking requirements set by the Guinness World Record Organization, it was established that, only 785 were accepted as eligible to qualify as valid for the world record attempt. All the evidence of the feat that included various reports, photos, filming, t.v news, newspaper reports and other related material, were sent to the Guinness World Record Organizers for their verdict. Blue Sea Sport Angling Club as organizers of the Blue Sea – Puttinu Fishing Festival, are now in the seventh heaven when, after the verifying process, they were informed that they are now the new Guinness World Record Holders of the Most Participants in a Sea Angling Competition title. The approved amount of Participants is 785 This title was previously held by Sweden with 679 participants where they had enjoyed this record for these past eleven years. By obtaining this world record title, Puttinu Cares as the Club’s collaborators, and Marsaskala - Malta as the participation local and Country, will now be included on the list of the World Record Holders with the organizers Blue Sea Sport Angling Club. The organizers, besides thanking all those who took part, contributed and supported this event to obtain this rewarding result, would like to inform the General Public that the amount raised in donations towards Puttinu Cares was €8,156 This successful result proves that, the Maltese Anglers not only have included Malta on the World Record Holders Map but, for once again, they coordinated their sport event to a good cause.
