DALLAS - A suburban Dallas man must serve 15 days in jail after admitting to stuffing a lead weight into a bass he caught during a fishing tournament. A Texas Parks and Wildlife Department spokesman told The Dallas Morning News that Robby Rose must also surrender his fishing license. That's after the 45-year-old man pleaded guilty to felony attempted theft after admitting to rigging his fish.

What a GREEDY idiot!!! although worth mentioning is his incentive for doing it..he already had 2nd place in the bag,and $10,000 but he had his eyes on bigger fish..the 1st place prize a $55,000 boat..kind of puts a bit of a different perspective on things doesn't it?

How stupid of him! he should have at least stuffed it with lead shot or most likely steel shot in that state, and if caught out blamed the hunters  :P
It was 1lb solid weight..and the reason they have steel shot in the US is because of waterfowl/birds ingesting lead in their gizzards when collecting gravel from riverbeds etc.Bass are predators & don't bottom feed..and even if they did there's alot more better things to hunt in texas than waterfowl
