Car hire in Malta

I have been reminded by my son, that because his girl friend only works part-time now, she travels to & from work at different times to him, so they need both cars for work Which means that I have to hire a car to go fishing!
Anybody on the forum in the business of hiring cars? "Rent a Wreck" would be fine, so that I can leave it on the side of the road at Wied iz-Zurrieq, or other fishing places, & hopefully it will still be there when I get back, & not smashed open for the stereo, seeing as it hasn't got one
Or would it be more sensible to travel by taxi? fine from Marsascala, but how do you hail a cab from the rocks at Wied iz-Zurrieq? I would hate to have to leave the rocks to meet a taxi, if the tuna were biting!

Forget Taxis! Too expensive. I suggest hiring a car from Freeways, Bugibba. They have very good prices. Expect to pay at least 20 Euro Per day, more like 30Euro per day for the busier season.
