| November 27, 2008, 21:20:42 CET 18' boat weight around 1.5 tons i presume. Its a brand new S/S snap lock and I told the chandler what type of boat i was going to use it on and he assured me its more than enough. I will definitely not use these anymore but use the ones with the screw down lock |

| November 27, 2008, 21:12:01 CET Just out of curiosity what size of boat do you have shanook? Reason asking is due that these should have a SWL ( Safe working load )rating. so it all depends on the weight & size of the boat. |

| November 27, 2008, 20:58:05 CET This was the snap hook ( or what's left of it) that was holding Shanook (the boat!!). This rope eventually gave under the strain of the waves created within the bay of St Paul. Under the damaged one is an intact snap so that one can compare. The locking notch was sheared off and the snap eventually straitened. |
