| July 19, 2009, 10:46:31 CET These reel are very good, however like all level wind reels certain parts are designed to fail in the event of a jam on the mechanism. On most penn levelwinds it was the nylon drive gear, on the banax its the pawl, i have replaced mine at least once. The original factory part is made of a weaker material and gets chewed up quickly especially if you reel in at hi speed while the reel is not held horizontally. Anyway the part is easy to replace, and i stocked up on spares, i am now using pawls intended for an okuma reel, the only difference is the lenght, they are too long so i shortened to .975mm.
