0.45mm mono is more than enough imho! and 0.50mm braid as freeman said you can tow a boat with it... ;D

It is surfcasting but it can take up to 300mtr of .45 line. so it can be used for various things. very heavyduty

max is a spinning reel- can't be surfcasting as those reels have shallow spools for casting distances.

If the spool is a fairly decent size (i.e a large diameter spool like an 18,000 shimano as you said) then it goes without saying it will have a bigger line retrieval rate so the gear ratio might be ok in that case

It's the 65 and has a 1:5 ratio which i think is good for jiggin since the ideal would be 1:4.9
Skip although it is hollow it can take a good amount of braid since the spool is huge

Is it the ST-60 or ST-65?

The ST-60 is more suited to jigging than the 65 which has a much lower gear ratio. You will find it hard work for popping as the gear ratio is low.

This is a Big Pit Style Reel, Surfcasting

Yes and very detailed to. if you look closely on the bail there is a brush on the top side so no water will get under the spool  ;D
