mellieha Posts:245 | August 12, 2009, 11:03:06 CET Once we saw a floating container with only about 1 feet visible. Imagine embarking at it at night and at speed of greater than 10 knots. Surely to create a big crefix in your hull |
EmicMalta Posts:1296 | August 12, 2009, 10:34:53 CET what I was saying is not only for others (including me that when he opened the gas I thought it was going to pass on us with all that noise), but in the morning when we went again diving we noticed a big piece of plastic and a wooden pallet. Accident like that even at midday can happen with all that speed so imagine if finding tat things at 8pm. |
Guest | August 12, 2009, 09:54:20 CET I'm not sure I understand your objection to the pictures being posted? Here in this forum we discuss things related to fishing and boating to raise the awareness and also to learn from others for the the future. All accidents are unfortunate and I wish your brother and any persons on board a good recovery if they were injured. it's not nice to see this happen to any vessel at sea, it has become very dangerous navigating around our waters because of the number of boats out, and many haven't even done the nautical licence. Even on a calm day the sea can be 'rough' from all the wake made by the passing boats. I think what the EmicMalta was trying to say is that boats like these have a nasty habit of speeding out of bays and from too close to the shore, they do not wait to be a safe distance first. I am not saying this is applies to your brother as I did not see him. |

EmicMalta Posts:1296 | August 11, 2009, 23:13:57 CET I was diving at the Fessey Rock in Gozo on Saturday and at 8pm (quite dark) he left for the 2nd time from Mgarr Ix Xini. It s nice to have a pleasure boat like that but too much speed at that time |
