Tbh more often than not my rods are a bit over the top for the fish i catch...but then again knowing my luck,if i decided to use a lighter rod you can bet money that it would be the day the biggest fish ive ever seen bites my lure!  At least whenever ive decided to use lighter tackle (line thickness etc) that's always been the case! But then again if you go on Youtube and do a search for "Barbie Fishing" you'll be suprised what can be achieved on light tackle if your patient..i was!  Personally i believe if you have a good sturdy reel with a good drag mechanism (Avet reels are awesome apparently!) than with patience you'll be able to fight most fish we encounter here. |

| July 12, 2010, 19:24:30 CET Yes I think that was/is my only "light rod" (yes 20-30lbs) that you are holding with the AVET reel. Iman and Jonathan convinced me to buy the rod. I had to cos they kept giving me shit about my "broom sticks". |

| July 12, 2010, 14:14:35 CET I'm a broom stick boy as well Colin!! All my rods are 30/50 except for my jigging rods and I've been saying I ought to try lighter rods for Alongi. Iman said it's actually your rod and reel I'm using.....I was under the impression it's a 20/30lbs rod |
