Description: Caught on 17 July 2010 at approx. 0730am - Seafox and Dentist Zammit in the pic. Strike was on a Penn 20/30lb rod loaded with an AVET 2 speed reel spooled with 350yds of 80lb Berkley "Whiplash" Crystal braid followed by a Seaguar .60mm FC leader. The sailfish went for a red/white plastic 4 inch skirted squid. It's a beauty, very colorful and I feel very sad that it ended up on our dinner plates. These fish are on the decline and it would be very proactive if they are listed as a "protected" species. |
