SEAFOX Posts:315 ![]() | July 23, 2010, 13:51:17 CET Hi Skip & Baghira - do not be surprised at all that you get no strikes crossing from Malta to Capo Passero, or any part of the Sicilian cost. Xejn mhemm, cimiterju kbir hi. Many years back it was a little different; yes you would get a big Plamtu, Pastardella or a fat Kubrita. I do the trip a few times a year joining my brother on his sailing boat; we follow the reefs and other specifics on his FF/Chart. I always let out 2 rods, tried everything imaginable, assortment of lures, plugs, whatever..... Result: In about 20 journeys to & from Sicily we only got one huge hook up, 15 miles out of Porto Palo, 450 yds of braid gone like a flash, tried to hang on to the fish like an idiot, line broke, total loss....Ahh we have to admit that the Med is practically "dead". |

If I'm not mistaken those are 140mm lures so they should have been perfect. East coast is known for being a lot worse than the West except for Swords as Bigboy can testify. |
