Joe D Gaffer  is correct in all respects and why not meet for drinks during December as Rammx suggested, we can have a fenkata say at the end of January before the MFF's "hard work" commences. I do agree that a sit-in does not allow us to mix freely and one is limited to chatting with the guys on either side. FYI - The fenkata evening came up when I met Baghira this week. I remarked that it's a pity that there are nearly 2000 members in the forum but we do not even meet except for some competition, here too only a small % show up. Silvio replied that we should organize a fenkata next year and I offered my resources/time in organizing the evening. He then mentioned the ikla on one of his posts dated 08 Dec., thus starting a paper trail on the subject. Rammx count me in for the drinks session at your friend's bar in Siggiewi. Pick a date and let's meet at Siggiewi, I suggest that you do not cancel this outing. Why??  Forget the fenkata for now, that will come a later date and it would be a sort of "opening" to the MFF's annual activities for the year 2011......trusting that the Admin/Moderators would update us with what's in store for us during the New Year.

Oki guys agreed.
Rammx, I started this thread appropiately for this purpose, so that people can share their thoughts.
It was not to compete or interfere with what you were up to my friend.
I just think a bit beyond when I start some writing. I ask myself, what age group is that we have! Can they all drink? Sometimes it also happens that the younger of the group say that they will come and then do not turn up for the event for various reasons... So after taking in consideration what the majority agrees upon, then I continue to the next step.

If I had to decide for me it is obvious, I would choose a drinks night out, as many may assume.

Now due to the elevated age of some of the members, we have also to be carefull about the menu! Can they eat it without removing Dentures..!! ;Detc etc

Guys I am in for the drinks night for this month... Rammx you can keep up on this thread deciding the date. Count me in.
I will then take care of a fenkata in January.

Well said Baghira, prosit.....except...ummm the part of the elevated age, I suppose you meant "anziani" as I am, ghed tirreferi ghalija?? ghalkemm ghandi 60 sena, well sissa. Luckily I do not have dentures as yet, "all" is still functioning very well, serrah rasek**..... Such events, being for drinks or an ikla, are important simply cos it's great to enjoy the company of other MFF members. I for one do not drink much alcohol (issa Silv do not tell me I am a Mussulman ukoll!!) but certainly look forward to these events taking pleasure in enhancing the friendship with the "younger guys" too. Silv as promised I shall do my part and be very active in organizing a fenkata sometime end of Jan/11. Oh..bilhaq..kif kienu il Plamti.?? C u on Tuesday somewhere at St Paul's,  jien fidejn Robby.

The only problem of a drinks night is that not everybody can drink mates and some may not come for this reason.
On the other hand everyone eats.......

Hi guys,i haven't posted in a while as ive been a bit busy.Im in for both fenkata &/or a drinks night...Im going to drink at either regardless so.... ;D
But im sure most would agree that during a sit down meal it is difficult to move around & talk to everyone,as oppose to drinks and a few nibbles in a bar.
Hopefully ill be able to attend both events but it depends when in january as im going for a long vacation at the end of january so ill be a bit busy from the 15th onwards.

Plamti are very nice grilled as baghira said, but kubrit & tunnag not so much, however i got an awesome recipe from charles (clutchkick) about 2yrs ago to make tuna in vegatable oil (tonn ta' zejt) and back then i had tried it with an albacore i caught on a friends boat and its awesome! then i tried it with kubrit and it came out the same! Seriously its way better than any canned tuna!! once you open up a jar you'll eat the lot..along with a nice loaf obviously.ill post it in the recipe's thread

robby017

also you can add some dried herbs of your choice ex, chili garlic mint basil etc............. but NOT ALTOGETHER, just choose 1 or 2..... the best i found is garlic with chili and basil alone

Thanks rob! in fact in the recipe clutchkick gave me chillies are one of the ingredients, but i can imagine basil would go very well with it too  :) i was gonna try it with garlic once but i was scared it might overpower the 'natural' flavor of the fish rather than enhance it.

robby017

u have to use dried garlic, not fresh..... and just a bit due to what you said...... i have a slighty differant way how to make it...... but the end result is similar........ originally we used to do it with tunnagg but since it is now illeagal, we do it with albacore. i will try find the time to give you my version of preserving the fish in oil........ but not at quarter to one in the morning :D

Guys I tried to contact Rammx on PM so that he continues organising the drinks event but he is not replying.
Come on mate time is rolling.. Put up a date.
Hope you did not get offended due to some constructive discussion.
Anyway guys, if you all want a drinks out contact our lager man. He came up with the idea and did half of the organisation already.

I will try to organise a meal next month then.
