Guys, just be on the lookout for this front.  Could happen any minute, or any day...

ISSUED BY METEO MALTA (TUESDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2008 AT 9AM)

POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS VALID FROM 3PM TODAY TILL 7AM TOMORROW DUE TO A LOW PRESSURE AREA WITH LARGE INSTABILITY AFFECTING THE CENTRAL MEDITERRANEAN. MODERATE SHEAR SUPPORTS ORGANISED MULTICELLS/MCS AND MARGINAL SUPERCELLS. CHANCES SEEM BEST FOR LARGE AMOUNTS OF RAINFALL WITH LOCALISED FLOODING, BUT LARGE HAIL, DAMAGING WINDS AND WATERSPOUTS COULD OCCUR AS WELL.

How right you were Gaffer. was awaken by the thunder, but went back to sleep......untill the big one. It must have done some serious damage because we ended with no electricity at the hotel till about 2pm.
What really had me scared though was at about 1.15am at the end of our street in qawra the wind was getting very strong untill I saw a twister forming. Saw three stupid turists in the street screeming nearly being blown off theire feet. They were holding on to each other.
Was up early and left home at 5.30 for B'Buga to check boat. There all seemed fine. Tender took me ages to empty of water, my arm still hurts.

Somebody could have warned me about yesterday's downpour Shocked I just had to stand there & get soaked until it stopped, then I steamed for an hour until I dried out! Angry
Lads we get this weather in the UK we dont expect to come out here & find it as well, Do I have to bring my waterproofs in future?  Huh

I'm gonna go with the 'You brought the lousy weather with you!' , or the weather knew you were coming and wanted to make you feel at home :p
