Got hold of a MegaBait jiger http://www.extremelures.com/ProductImages/images/livejig/livejigallcolors06.jpg
The Green Mackerel. Was wondering if it is good for barracudas? And suggestions for what it is good?

i do not think so.

jiggers are meant for vertical jigging from boat preferably....although!!!!!!!!!!!...i know people who have used them successfully in spinning.

Such jigs are very good to use as vertical jigging from boats where you can catch bottom predators such as dentici, tracna, burqax...... middle water jigging where you can target plamti, tunnag, sawrell and so on.......

In Malta we do not know much about this fishing method so far but it have proved succesfully in Spain and other Mediterranean countries. There are people in Malta who have experienced very very nice catches using this method but still i think we are learning!!!!!!!!!

Jigs below a certain weight, probably up to 60gr, can be used as casting lures.  Vertical jigging requires 100gr+ jigs.

Rob, I have a Megabait like maxxat and they are around 150-200gr so very much a vertical jig. If you were sold them specifically for Barracuda then fair enough, but they are pretty good and a technique we still don't know much about here in practice yet.

other fish like what pacebo?

LapsiBoy

The majority off little tunnys can all be caught from open sea, obviously cudas and much more but they will be rare to catch like, gulley jack (sawrella ta limperjal), Amberjack (Accola). MartinB has even stretched the limit by catching a swordfish from land ! so i think alot of fish can be caught on that lure.

when it is wet it's white belly's color will change a bit and it comes like a rainbow

from shores mainly cudas ..... even plamti and other fish like a lampuka when u are lucky

What i mean is that it is an ideal lure for spinning from shores.

I got the same model but in different colours from Ebay and i caught many fish on it
