Guys with the new gallery you can now rate pictures, and I would like to start running a 3 month 'competition' where the prize will be your picture featured on a dedicated page on the main site maltafishingforum.com

We will create a Top Rated Gallery page on the site and every three months we will feature the top 3 rated pictures along with a small writeup about the angler/s responsible for the picture (ideally the ones who caught it), and if he/she wishes a small write up about how it was caught.

Now's your chance to get featured online! Get voting, we'll run the first feature in Jan '09 to give voting a chance Smiley

I am pleased to report that last month the forum attracted over 10,000 visits or 1 milllion 853 thousand hits.

RULES:

1) Catch must be done by a forum member
2) Even if the pictures remain the top rated after the 3 months that was shown we will move to the next top three
3) Ratings summary is calculated automatically by the forum gallery software

Guys remember this is total number of votes for your picture. So it's very much based on how many people give it a high 5 star rating.

I believe you can rate any picture, including one you uploaded yourself. Let me check.........

Nope you can't! You cannot rate your own picture. It won't even let me and I have Administrator rights!!!!!

And you should be able to vote on any picture in the gallery.

That is a very good idea Skip. Helps encourage more pictures as well. I suggest we start showing photos of fish being released back as well.

At this point, I would like to give a special thanks and I'm sure most of you agree, to a special member who has been contributing pictures for a long time. Pictures that we all find very informative and a good reference. A big thanks to Arti2 for his contribution to the forum.

A suggestion I have is to start a section in the gallery dedicated to poisonous and dangerous fish that we may encounter while fishing. I know there are a few locally. I personally would find it very educational and informative.

Here we go guys, here's the top three breakdown. Herbert's picture will remain on the site page after the 3 months as a 'standing ovation' in his memory.

In at #1 - Barracuda by Kaptan Jr with his dad

#2 - The Crazy squid caught by Davian

#3 - Amberjack caught by and in memory of Herbert Mercieca 34 from Rabat
