Hi guys,
I've been reading quite a lot from this forum and it's really interesting.   I just began to perform some spinning from land, however with no success.
Please can you tell me if lately anyone has been cathcing cudas?  I've been to harbour areas lately however I haven't got even a single strike!!  I use yo zuri as lures, mainly red head and I have one yellow and orange.  thanks guys

ken have you tried marsamxett harbour ? it can be productive at times.

What line diameter are you using??? there you have to go low as the cudas there are very shy of thick lines so ideally i would go for a 0.25mm line.

as regards to the lure i would go for something in the 12 - 14cm range.

best time for cudas would be at sunset and an hour after sunset. At these times try to use bright coloured lures like red heads or fire tigers.

Thanks for your info bigboy.  The diameter I use is 30 and I have various lure sizes.  I usually go to Sliema, ta Xbiex area.  I even went to Foss, Valletta.  Thanks man.  I turned my attention towards cudas as they seem the only species that are not in decline!!  I prefer to fish with casting rods from high cliffs in summer.  Sometimes I have some good cathces however sometimes you seem to be fishing in a well not in a cliff of about 30metres deep...!!

Bigboy gave you some good information but you also need to see that the lure is swimming well.Chack that with the speed you reel it in it swims well.

foss is a good area which you can try because you may even encounter a plamtu from there. Fish that area where they fish for kahli. If you are capable of playing a fish i would go down to 0.25mm line. because it makes some good difference.
