I bought a fishing kite from Australia last year. I tried it without lures or bait for now.....but it took off Mtahleb one night and went 500m out. You need a separate fishing rod to control the kite. The drag setting determines the kite flight height. You need release clips too. You need force 2-4 to take out heavy rigs. It is not a common kite, so don't try fishing with a common kite!

I will be trying it out again soon.....off the cliffs for bottom fishing into the 120m depths. If you need any help on this topic don't hesitate to ask.

Sounds interesting..too much work to get a piece of bait out there !

I agree it sounds like alot of "work" but then anything powered by the wind is gonna give you a challenge to launch & control..the mrejkba method for lampuki is alot of "work" (& skill!) too!

I've seen video shots of the kite being used from a boat. The way the kite is handled can literally make just the bait touch the water. In fact the kite operator was teasing a fish, and pulling the fish just befor it took it.
