Robby017 and the rest who are interested.  The cost sharing trip for Alongi is ON FOR TOMORROW.  Expect some high seas while we're going out, since well be going into a headwind until we arrive at the hotspots.  But other then that, we should be fine.  All those who contacted Robby017 and me personally via PM, please be at Pontoon A Msida Marina by 4.30am.  Expected time of return is midday.  Cost, considering the number of people/wieght/fuel rate will be Euros50.
Please confirm here or via private msg.

To all, just thank God the competition was postponed! Not one bloody strike, let alone a catch! However, on a positive note, we were a good team and made new friends, thanks guys, until next time!

rob why do u think i didnt bother to go out there. Its extremely difficult to raise the alungi from the depths. when the weather is like its been this last week the fish dont stay near the surface and they move on. Now we need a few days of good weather and its back to business.
At least u had fun so no problem.

What a disapointing trip. We started trolling at 6.00am, moderate swell, and seas were OK, by 8.00am, not one strike...and I started using every conceivable setup I know of.  We even had Mike red squid and Robby's killer lure in, but to no avail.  No bird activity, no fishfinder activity (bait, alongi, tempreature breaks) nothing.  Un bell'ZERO.  Then, the fuel filter started clogging up.  Sure, bring it on man, as if the day wasn't turning out bad already :'(.  I found out I was using a 2 micron fuel filter on the racor filter.  Too small for my big diesel.  The engine fuel filter also played up a bit.  Anyway, decided to shut down the engine, and clean the filters.  I removed the racor filter, filled up a small pail with white spirit, and gave it a good cleaning.   Replaced the filter back again, and we were off.  2 hrs later it started again.  By that time it was already 12.30pm, so we decided to head back home.  We managed to get to M'Scala, and the reacor filter just gave up.   I decided that since we were a short distance away from port, to jus tremove the racor altogether, and run on just the engine filter.  We made it to port by 1.45pm.
Guys (Robby, Mike + Mate and Cla144) we went out to have fun.  Seeing that it was a no fun day, no strikes, fuel filter problems...I am inviting you all for a FREE trip at the next available opportunity you all have.  Ideally, we could go out all together again, however, I know there are some work related restrictions.  However, I will keep in touch, and whenever I'll be going out, I'll make contact and see if any or all of you are available.

Once again, so sorry for the dissaponitment, but I have really no control over the bite!!! ???

I am having filter clogging problems as well.......I am finding a lot of sand in the bottom of the water glass. So its either the tank is dirty or else the Diesel we are getting is not being filtered from the fuel pumps. I will check it out next time i fill up........

Not the first time i got skunked. Although i am a bit disappointed my last remaining original style red yozuri hydro squirt failed to do its magic. It was a fun trip anyway, we were a great team and we definitely look forward to another trip aboard The Gaffer. Joe thanks for your kind offer and for having us aboard .

Not good to hear at all, especially with the sand issue.

I suggest you all use one of these as you take on fuel http://www.maesco.com/products/racor/r_funnel/r_funnel.html

Helps take care of pre-filtering to avoid issues with onboard filters and even inline Racors.

Disappointing to hear there was no bite at all, and fingers crossed that with the weather forecast this week, things should be looking good for us on Saturday.

Hi Joe,

There is no need to be angry about especially for the bites :) I really had fun because it was a nice fishing trip and the crew were very nice people. I will definetly come for another fishing trip. I am not expecting the trip to be free because as you rightly said no body has control over the fish bite.
