When I come out in Sept I can borrow my daughter in laws 4x4 when she isn't working, but that means I can only go out of Marsascala 1 or 2 days >:(  Whenever I mention hiring a car she always says "you can borrow mine" but unless she gets a lift with my stepson she needs it herself.
Now we all know what anglers cars are like after they have had boxes of korea worm, squid, fish etc in them, by the end of the week you need to spend a day washing it out before you take it back! ::)
Does anybody know of a firm that have cars that are at the end of their "hire life" that I can take to the Blue Grotto, Maroxlokk, Sliema etc & not worry about some dreg breaking into it, because its a "bit of a shed" ;) If I hire a decent one how can I put all my gear in it, & all my bait, (& fish) :D without ruining it! I dont want to be worrying that I have to spend half my time valeting the bloody thing to take it back, there has to be a "Rent a Wreck" on Malta somewhere? ;)

U can buy these plastic containers there are various sizes I get mine from Homemate. They are very hand with a lockable lid and quite cheap. that way u dont have to worry if anything overturns it will only spill in the container.

Ryanair might be a bit upset if I try to take a big plastic box back on their plane, & my stepson would be even more upset if I tried to leave it at his house, he already has 5 rods, 4 reels, a rod stand, & a big tackle box in his spare room, & what I really need is a "working class" car I'm not afraid to leave in remote places ;)

hi mate, i have not heard of rent a wreck in malta, i have a suberu e10 van, if i am not doing anything i am more than happy to take you fishing, just let me know in good time.

Most kind of you Mike, I will certainly take you up on the offer, plus you can select the venue as you must have more "local knowledge" than me, all I do is look at the map & Google Earth before I come out, & take "pot luck" which usually means I am in the wrong place, at the wrong time >:( local knowledge is priceless! ;)

How can you get lost on Malta :o If you do get "lost" then if you carry on driving, in 15 mins you are bound to end up where you started from! :D
