On the plane!

« on: August 28, 2009, 18:59:27 CET »

Will be arriving in Malta at 1050 on 23rd Sept which means that I expect to be fishing that evening from the jetty at Marsascala (the one below Hotel Cerviola).
Anybody got any plans for Thursday 24th that I can become part of? I have plenty of tackle to suit all types of fishing both boat & shore, & I am quite happy to travel to any venue Wink I am fishing one night at Marsoxlokk with Redbus9 (dont know which night yet), & I am hoping to go with Placebo to "our spot" by the Freeport.
Anybody else with plans to go fishing & want company, you can leave a message on 00356 27014815 ask for Victor or leave a number & I will call you back Cheesy

What about Thursday night? or do you want to leave it until Monday (after the weekend market has groundbaited for us), I leave it up to you, I will fit in around your plans, but I have limited time because of this stupid Gozo trip Angry & we come back on Wednesday 30th leaving at 1115 so Tuesday night is out, for me Thursday night or Monday night would be best! Every cloud has a silver lining, my daughter in law snapped a cruciate ligament on Friday night, (dancing probably) & had an operation on it this morning to put it right. She will be in plaster for 6 weeks (which means she wont be driving her 4x4 between 23rd & 30th Sept) Wink Which means that I SHOULD have the use of it, so watch this space, we may have "wheels" for the week Roll Eyes
What is your map reading like? do you know your way around Malta? can you give me GOOD directions from Marsascala to Valletta & then to Marsoxlokk? or are we going to be driving around in circles like a pair of tourists??? Embarrassed
Even if she makes a miraculous recovery I cant see her being behind the wheel in 23 days time, if she was a footballer she would be out for a season, & if she was a racehorse they would have put her down on the dancefloor Shocked So we should be good for "wheels" for the week, look out fish the "Brits" are on tour! With a map its easy. I used to drive around Malta with a map in one hand and the other shading my eyes from the sun and turning the wheel with my knee. But there was alot less traffic then.Somebody with you to read the map should be no problem.  Wink

You mean that you used to drive like everybody else in Malta does? in the shade! Cheesy Now that is an Irish question "are we fishing all night until daylight"? Roll Eyes How are we going to know that we have been there all night, if we dont wait until it gets light? Shocked

Don,t think a tip light would fit on an 80lb class Trevour Housbey rod. The reel would start screaming before the tip started to move. Looks like Thursday night would be better than Monday, because they won,t have eaten scince Sunday night. Have asked Mike d if he wants to join us,hope you don,t mind   Grin

Trevor Housby! Jesus now you are going back a bit, he was about when everybody wore braces on their trousers & we all wore hob nail boots Cheesy Well if you dont catch anything with it at least you can use it to pole vault over the central reservation when you cross the road Grin
No problem with Mike if he wants to come thats fine, the more the merrier, it seems like Placebo & Robby are going to put in an appearance to drink our coffee, then go home to bed! Wink

I think Placeabo and Robby are going to keep us supplied with drink and nibbles after all they will be watching team UK live on the waterfront. Maybe the TV crews will turn up to film the event.
