Those would be interested in taking part in some kind of land fishing competition should post here, and this topic should also be used to present ideas so that we can determine the type of competition.

I'm in aswell.Posted my idea in Malta fishing forum competitions.

Last time when we went to marsaxlokk was great the only thing I would change is that people can fish for what they like to fish for.Do it singles since not all members have friends in the forum but people can help others landing possibly nice sized fish.I would like more members to participate because last year we had fun in a friendly atmosphere. As a place I would suggest the same as last time since it is easy for parking, fish are being caught, the weather doesn't effect so much and we can stay on the pontoons and even in the part that takes you to the pontoons.

Count me in. Last November we really enjoyed ourselves and the weather was great! I do agree with spitec's idea of keeping it open not just for mullet. Another thing I would like to point out is to organise it on a saturday instead on a sunday.

Work is for people who do not know how to fish

« Reply #9 on: September 21, 2009, 17:55:56 CET »

I do agree to fish for any kind of fish, but the venue of Marsaxlokk want be the ideal place for this kind of competition as only mullet can be fished over there. Ther might be 2 or 3 sparli but that all. When organizing a competition on Suturday one have to take in cosediration for does people who works on that day.
I suggest we find a public holiday which falls on a week day and it will be ideal for all. Today we went to Marsaxlokk, for mullet, as we could not fish in Birzebbugia. Since it was a weekday we fished where the monti normally set up and we really had a good fishing day. Everybody got his share with the winner cathing over 1.8kg

I agree with you about mostly catching mullet but 2 weeks ago I was there. There were some occasionaly awrat, sparli, sawrell, hriebex and obviously mullet but everyone was catching something. And for the date there will not be any more public holidays till December.
