New Rod - need advice !

guys, im looking for a good, lighweight carbon reel rod for all-round use.  I usually practice bottom fishing , so i need it to cast far but i also need it to be sensitive. i saw a rod at mr fish - it was a shimano carbon rod . 5 metres long and the casting weight is 6-12g. now usually i use a 30-40g lead on my current 3metre reel rod. do u think that the new rod with a  weight of 6-12g is going to cast as far ? the man at mr fish said that with a small diameter mono it will cast further away than my 3mt rod with 40g weight . if u want to take a look at this rod here's the link. the model is catana BX TE3 GT 3500.

im not an expert but i think the lenth of the rod alone will give you a further cast. the rod looks great what sort of cost is it?

it costs lm 35 only ! considering that it's a Shimano and it's carbon fibre, i think it's a bargain. however even though it's longer , it casts weights which are lighter than my other rod , so i was wondering if it really would cast further . i dont know but i like this rod . when the next stipend comes ( i'm still a student at university and have no job   ) i'll go buy it i think.

yes i agree with you bout the weight you have to use on it but also will make it harder to fish when the sea is a bit rough (wind)

any thoughts on the rod guys ? or should i consider buying some other rod ? going to buy a new rod sometime this week so i guess help is needed urgently
