The rule is no electric reels. No point winging about it now, next time ask when things were being discussed. There's nothing about no downriggers just no electric reels. So a manual ok ... at this stage the biggest problem seems to be number of participants!

probably bryan will make it and I might be able to join as well well see.........

what robby is trying to say is that there are some eletric reels like the kristal fishing that can be used as a downrigger for trolling. these i think can be used as a downrigger for trolling if one can use a downrigger in the competition. if someone who has this type of reel uses it for bottom fishing you would know by the fish he would have caught

It's a bit late for all these last min things but I will leave it to a majority vote from those taking part after al this is a friendly

forget it...... no electric reels..... not worth the hassle, i'll just do it the good old fashinoned way.

6 nm from shore is about 130 mts. robby is a big boy for him its not a problem to fish in that depth with a manual reel.  :D  :D

I don't want to use it for deep sea fishing but as a downrigger for trolling live bait in 40 to 50 meters... I'll manage the same with a manual reel, no problem...

used a manual reel in 200 meters for circa 3 hours straight and caught nice bazug too......... so no problems there either....

if the boat's ready in time we'll gladly give it a shot jigging :)
In the interim I might take some private lessons..... 10x Skip :)
I'd rather be fishing.....

Tell you what, Robby this is now in your hands to organise, re-set the rules and the date/time.

Once you've all been out, done your thing and come up with a winner just let me know.

Thanks

Oh come on Nick, can't we joke around a bit anymore on the forum, after all, as you said this is a friendly and the aim of it is to go out all together and have a great day out at sea, im ok with the no electric reels, i don't want it to be an issue and we don't need to stay taking a vote about it... also its obvious to say that no longlines are allowed, we had already mentioned that on another thread if i'm not mistaken.

Furthermore with regards to planning it out, i find no objection in helping you out as i did with the getogether to discuss this same friendly but I am not the administrator of this forum and i respect the fact that however we go about it, you will have the final say...
