White Sea Bream

Hi people,

Where I fish mostly, you can see a lot of white bream (Diplodus sargus) and if you do your first aspetto perfectly, you are sure to catch one in about 20 seconds after you settle on the bottom. The problem is that when the water is very clear, on the next dives they will come to your aspetto but the bigger ones will stay out of range.

After some time they lose their interest and they will disappear - I assume that they head into their den. I was wondering about their habits: would their den be close to where they would be circling each other or would it be far away?

their den is usually about 10-15mt away and they dont normally head into the den unless they feel treatened what you should try is change the aspetto place what i do is i go deeper and try hide in seeweed or in a crack

I have tried changing the place but due to the relief of the bottom, the only possible alternative hiding space is closer to where they originally come from - so it makes them even more skittish. Next time I'm on the spot I will also try to do my first aspettos a bit farther away from the best place in order not to put too much pressure on the fish and be less invasive. Will tell you how it goes. Here are some pics of their fallen brothers

Hi Edward I know you play or used to play the Euphonium! I think you know me too if you take a look at 'My Catches' . This is one of my catches. The big one is 1Kg+
