Whats the difference between 50/200 and 83/200 transducers?

Basicly I m sure that I will never use it more then 200mtr so does it make sense either one or another?

I m interested between the Humminbird 798 or the Hds5, but prefare the 1st option

83/200 is usually used in fresh water / shallower depths. It has a wider cone angle 20 degrees versus the narrow 8 degree beam used by the 50Hz for Saltwater.

For serious Saltwater use in the depths you want a power output of at least 500W RMS which is 4000W peak to peak, but ideally you would use a 1K RMS for proper deep bottom fishing....under 500W RMS is more suitable for shallow water or freshwater

Be sure to do plenty of research and read up on the two models you are interested in.
