i am in possession of two {2} vouchers of mib insurance worth twenty {20} euros each to be presented against premiums of 150 euros or higher.it simply means that twenty euros will be deducted from the premium one has to pay.
expire date is:03-05-2012. i am willing to give these free without any obligations whatsoever.
                                                      any takers?
                                                                         thanks

Very generous of you Caldaland.

Speaking of insurances, yesterday I received a renewal letter from MTA to pay for my boat license. The letter states that for engines bigger than 9.9HP one has to have an insurance. Fair enough. What's so stupid about it is that, with bold letters, the letter states that MTA does not accept a photocopy or fax of the insurance policy. So much about Malta being well advanced in IT Communications. It means that I have to go to MTA to pay the license thus wasting a couple of hours leave in the process. Other payments, being telephone, electricity, loans, car/house insurances are all paid online. Are marine licenses the exception? Viva Malta.

Shanook is very right. If the only one you have is lost in post you would have the hassle to contact insurance to provide another one. Post is not reliable. Thus I will be asking my insurance if they can provide me with 2 certificates if possible so that I will send one registered together with payment to MTA and would have another original copy for myself.

Malvizzu, generally insurance companies always issue 2 certificates, one (the original) is for the licencing department and the other (copy) is for you. With photoshop and sophisticated scanning software I don't blame them for requesting the originals - You'd be amazed ;)
What could be done or rather should be done is link the boat insurances to the boat licencing department (same as with vehicle licences) and they can check online whether the insurance has been paid or otherwise.
I'd rather be fishing.....
