Last year I started seeing and catching Sawrell in the beginning of June. This year I caught my first one on the 22nd of April.. A lot earlier...

Yeah but the topic is about Lampuki not Sawrel

yes they are not Sawrell, but there might be a patern of migratory fish passing earlier cos of the warmer seas.

Yeah in some places in Italy they get to see the Brazilian babes a little earlier than we do close to shore.  Another point is that they have hundreds of kilometers of shoreline and in some spots they do not let out any FADs so the fish have nothing to congregate to offshore.  They will naturally venture inshore to hunt.

what lures would be proper for lampuki ?

The simplest lure to use would be small metal Jigs, anything from 20g to 80g, depending on the casting range of your rod.

Normal Jerk Minnows work fine, but the real fun is on the top water lures. Walk-the-dog, Poppers, and even better Skipping Lures like the MiniKetc or the Magux 35.

Seems like a good and early year for Lampuki, already saw (actually lost!) lampuki over 1Kg.
