Hello All,
I have just moved here to Malta and have tried once to troll for Dolphin fish(lampaki)sorry about the spelling, is there any advice ye may have that would help a fellow catch at least once this seasson, i work offshore and spend much time at sea and am normally to busy to fish. I have tried lures such as plugs and spinners and feathers, trolling at differant depths and differant speeds.I have passed white bouys(markers) which seem to be shelters set up to attract the Darado. I have been looking for surface action and found a few bursts of fish but no takers.
If any one has a few wise word it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks and regards

fish near buoys, markers and other FADs very early morning as sun is going up, even just before the sun is going up ... it's the best time and most probable to catch such predators on artificials. Try to be the only boat in such place at the moment. Other times of the day you may be lucky and catch also but at that time it is the very best. Sometimes you go to an FADs at 8 o'clock am and no hits ... the other day you try at very early morning in the very same place and there you go you get the hits.

the fishing gods might have something for me tomorrow I'll be fishing

BantryBay, dorado start from the 20th August onwards so dont try to catch now. Sorry cant reccomend any shops in Gozo but I am sure that another member will point you in the right direction. Ask there and I am sure they will be willing to help. If not you can always pop at ''Ta' Bormla'' thats a shop in Mosta.
