Hi guys i am buying a new braided line for casting. I was thinking of spiderwire stealth coded red in 0.20mm. I want a good one cause the one i just bought was giving me a lot of nodes. Is this one good for casting?

Thanks

berkley fireline (for very thin lines is the best - they go below 0.06) and spectra powerpro (for normal diameters) are the best around in my opinion.

there is also the xzoga and sufix but more for jigging stuff
Good season so far.....

i used many braids but the best i found were the code red braid and sufix...power pro is a good entry level braid but won't last long on your reel, you'll have to change it 3 times for every time you'll change code red or sufix

...if you buy sufix go for the performance braid...with both the performance braid and code red you can't go wrong, they are my favourites for good value for money....http://maltafishingforum.com/talk/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=4820

Keep a Silicone Spray with you  , Before you start spinning spray the braid so it can pass through the guides of the rod easily   ;)
I only fish on days that end in "Y" ...

10x for the info...i bought the climax braid, it seems a good braid...i had a few nodes but i is better than the other one. thanks everyone for your help. much appreciated

you get knots for 3 reasons normally.
1. line is not entering the reel tightly,
2. line was not properly spooled, i.e. straight off the roll it came in.
3. line gets adversely twisted whilst fishing, by current, foul hooked fish, tangled lure not swimming properly, faulty swievel etc

to continue with what robby was saying, we get tangles on braided line because of various factors, but the most important thing to do is to check that the line is spooled correctly, as most of the time that would be the main reason. Braid need to be properly across the spool in order not to get tangled.

Another common factor might be that when spooled, proper tension was not applied. It is very important to apply tension when spooling the braided line. I have been using a Daiwa Tournament X8 Specialist braided line recently, and I found it fantastic as it comes with a hand tension tool that really helps when spooling the line. If your braided line does not come with this feature, apply tension using your hands. Be careful not to cut your hands though....

After each session, my last cast would consists of throwing a weighted jig and retrieve it back as fast as I can. This allows me to have my line spooled tight for the upcoming session, as with casting light weighted lures, there is the tendency that tightness and tension would be all lost, causing a lot of tangles if not properly set.

If you still get tangles after doing all of the above, there might be one other reason why you are getting tangles. The reel. Each professional reel comes with a different technology, however most of them have a balancing feature, done by computer balancing, to enalble smoothness and proivides uniform line laying on the spool. If one of the washers creating such a balance wears out or is misplaced, by the tiniest mm and more often than not, by accident, you will start having a nightmare with line tangles. You have to look for professional advice when having such a situation.

I hope that I have been of good advice to you
