I was having a look at the new stepped hull design from Ranieri that is being featured on their new boats and is called the H.I.S. Stepped Hull which has been adding to their performance, giving some pretty incredible figures. This is not a new technology/design as its been around for a while (eg. Ranieri, Rancraft and others), but builders are always refining their hull design and tweaking to find the right combination that really works.

In recent years with the evolution in outboard weight, hull designs have needed to change so it's good to see builders coming up with revised models or completely new ones. With some of the new Ranieri models, gone are the rounded edges and instead they have opted for very sharp lines and square shapes which is unsual and may not be to everyones liking but certainly add to a new look.

Hi Skip.. Nice comments.. The Square Edged Ranieri's Have NOT replaced the round ones.. In fact the round ones are still Newish to the International market.. the NEW concept of the Square edges is an addition to the existing line of Ranieri's... to be honest the Square lines have to be seen in reality to appreciate and really see the famous Ranieri Details.. ALL hulls from 19 up have had the stepped hulls for years... however the NEW refined H.I.S hull system has been very successful and videos and reports to prove how well the HULL performs with a SMALL outboard (Especially the NEW Voyager 18S with a Small 40hp HONDA!! ) They can all be seen on YouTube.. my website or on the ranieri website www.ranieri-international.com (Italian Version... go on each boat and click boat test.. or test video)..

the results are amazing ..of course only the best expected from RANIERI!!!

Once again.. Ranieri have proven their ability in styling, finishing and stability with the FUEL ECONOMY in Mind..
It is Pointless owning a Boat which needs a BIG outboard to Perform.. thats where Ranieri are scoring BIG!!

About the Square lines.. anyone who knows about moldings will know that it is very very hard to achieve these lines (WITH THIS FINISH) and I'm sure it will take a good few years for any other manufacture to copy or be able to match!!

As you can see from the pictures above we went to Italy and tested every model prior to the Boat Show.. results.. speeds.. fuel economy all posted on www.hitecmarine.com or www.ranieri-international.com.. may I add we have these new models in stock for viewing should anyone being curious to see the square edged Ranieri's..

I would highly advise one does come down and have a look.. !!

I watched the video of the Voyager 18S with 40HP Honda. Really nice indeed and seems to handle really well in choppy waves. What knots will she see with say 2 persons? What maximum engine does she take?

Maximum Horsepower is 115hp.. the speeds registered with load + 2 people etc.. is 24.6knots.. you can see test results here: http://www.ranieri-international.com/italiano/modelli/stampa/Ranieri%20Voyager%2018%20S%20-%20BF40D.pdf

The new hulls are very efficent..
