If you are upgrading, I would consider it but heard that lowrance is working on something similar too. Personally I think that lowrance units have the best software around, and if you get it right, they are really a good tool. (Naf li kont tipprova Emic tahdem l affarijiet sewwa)

I tend to find Garmins more reliable and heavy duty than lowrance (they are more suitable to a protected environment). Given that you have an open boat Emic, i would invest in a Garmin. My 2cents mate
