I went to have a look at the federation web site and apart from other things i came across this in the ''About us''   i quote''The Federation has a committee member on the Fisheries Board and represents the interests of all MFB and MFC boat owners. Infact it is to be said that the latter category of fishing boats was accepted upon the suggestion of the federation member who sits on the Fisheries Board''

for those who missed my point the federation is boasting that the MFC (that is what most amateur clubs in Malta are all about and the majority of members of that form the federation) are represented because of the intervention of JOJO......come again.....I always thought that the amateur jew delettant is the MFC not the MFB........

No wonder when we hear about regulations and suggestions they are against the MFC and in favour of the partime or full time fisherman.....NO WONDER AT ALL.

again gaffer, someone post something and you take it to N extremen. i did not accuse u that you have been sleeping. this attitute is wrong be more positive and not overly aggressive to protect yourself.

i am of the opinion that you and the federation have been kept in the dark of some relevant matters.

people interst mean information, resources. i included, have dedicated littlr intrtest to leep updated and effectivrly its time to wake up and do my part to preserve our passion.

we mean votes for the government, i would start to make.sure to let the government know that we are a relevant no..

Hallina Granitu, what a load of hog wash.  No worries, as of tomorrow, i will request a meeting with the Hon. Galdes, and hand in my resignation.  I am now sick and tired of you arm chair critics, but when push comes to shove, i only see my shadow, and a few other people backing me in this quest.

@ Gaffer when a year ago you went to speak with PL representative and after election with Galdes and you posted the updates in this forum there were a lot of people who gave their input and thanked you for your hard work that you were doing. Some even offered their help. These armchair critics all thanked you and put their input in this http://maltafishingforum.com/talk/index.php/topic,4748.0.html

You maybe have phoned some people for help and they refused but you never posted in the Forum that you needed help. I am sure that a few people  would have found the time to help you. So you can not say that 'when push comes to shove, I only see my shadow' you never asked for help in the Forum. From last July of last year there is no post posted by you that the Fisheries are doing what they want and never consult you, that for a whole year the board never met, that you are getting annoyed with the way the fisheries are doing things. We only got to know about these things today from your last 2 posts.

You cannot blame people if they start asking questions when they hear these things. When you were in the same situation last year when you found out about the proposed new regulations  you went all out against the bad things and argued a lot so that the MFF would have a say in these proposed regulations. So now that you are in a better position to make our voice heard you are going to keep silent by resigning.     . A captain does not abandon his ship during a storm.

You are absolutely right buzz, i came out with all guns blazing last year, to ensure that the dirt being discussed behind pur backs was stopped.  When people really need something, or need to contact me, they send me a PM.  This time instead of using the PM to request updates, people logged onto the public forum and demanded an update, asked a lot of questions, put forward what should have been done...blablabla.....
Faced with this, as i have already explained...i get nothing out of this....anzi...i forfiet my own leave to attend meetings, my own fuel to get me to meetings, my very own time...and above all, i do not recieve a remuneration as a fisheries board member.  Unlike most of the fisheries board members, i do not have a vested interest in fishing activities, my bread and butter comes from somewhere else.  Until recently, inwas prepared to go along with this...however, when i am faced with uncalled for comments, ungrateful behaviour, and what not...then the time comes to take stock of the situation, and turn my back on all this, because frankly speaking, there is not even one of you guys, (except Nick) who knows how much time and effort i put into all this, and then, this is the thank you i recieve...well guys, bhal ma jghid il malti, hbieb konna u mija nibqaw...imma thanks, but not hanks.

You are right that it takes a lot of sacrifice to go at these meetings and nobody said otherwise.

The people you are referring to logged onto the MALTA FISHING FORUM to ask questions to the representative of the MALTA FISHING FORUM and not on another public forum that has nothing to do with MALTA FISHING FORUM. What was happening should have been updated on the MALTA FISHING FORUM and not  someone sends a PM for an update. What is wrong with getting updates on MALTA FISHING FORUM.

like you said a year ago

" Appreciate the acknowledgement.  I have nothing to hide, I have always made myself perfectly clear on this matter.  I was, and still am against people who by being in authority think they can bulldoze their ideas and thoughts on others.  There is nothing being done behind anyone's back.
I simply stated that I'll post the full text of our meeting from home as I am busy at work.  Unlike others, here at the Malta Fishing Forum we always did things openly, in full view of everybody, and with the involvment of all. "

Buzz, i wasn't referring to that kind of information sharing.  The point is nothing is happening.  Qed tifhem issa!
I cannot understand why i keep being asked things, when i posted in the beginning, NOTHING IS HAPPENiNG.
I am aware that the federation requested the MFC & S registration issue to be discussed during the next board meeting.
The fisheries board meeting has been rescheduled 3 times in the past month.
Issa xbajt, tqzzizt, u iddejjaqt. And since some of you seem to know much mor then i do how things should be done, then why not....i will step down and allow you guys to take over.  Its not a question of the captain leaving a sinking ship, however i must turn my back on an ungrateful attitude and people who just join here to criticize without taking heed of the consequences.
And another thing buzz, where were you when people here were asking for my resignation....now you have it.  Good luck!

To begin with I don't know the_Gaffer personally but for all of you who are taking it all out with the_Gaffer and keep asking him what is happening ? and his replies are always '' at this stage there is nothing happening'' and with this kind of replies you are not satisfied.
So why not taking his offer then and take his post or you're all full of energy just to criticize instead of taking action and start sacrificing your time like the Gaffer was doing. If one of you take this advice it all stops here and as you are saying things will get in progress right !
