i heard that a number of people are buying second hand boats from Sicily. Anyone knows of the procedure involved? apparently its not complicated. Thanks

I wouldn't say it's not complicated, but the best advice I can give you is to get in touch with Transport Malta in advance. They have become very fussy over paperwork and lots of boats in Italy lack all their paperwork.

You can to need a Builders CE Certificate and a proper bill of sale in English. Sometimes they ask for the previous bill of sale as well which isn't always possible to obtain.

Skip is right, it's doable but can get complicated. You need a bill of sale before you can register it, so you need to pay it before you can actually bring it down by sea.
