re-registering a bahri with TM!

my late father had a Bahri which originally had an S registration but it was not used/paid for many years (10?) and I was told I need to go through the whole registration process with TM which involves getting it surveyed and cannot simply pay the backlog  - has anyone been through this process to get an idea of what it involves, forms, costs? any recommendations for a surveyor?
