Steering Console and small seats for a 13ft open boat

As the tittle suggests i am after a steering console for my boat and also  4 seats to replace the benches i currently have as i spend too much time in summer on the boat and to be quite honest my back aint that good

I would go and speak with Petecraft as they make a 15 foot open boat and maybe they could use the same center console for you. Also check out Kaptan who might have the same.

Pedestal seats can be bought or ordered from the various Marine centers, but I personally would also speak with the local boat builders to see where they get them from.

Thanks for the very prompt reply.   I will try and give them a call regarding the console.  do you think my small 13ft boat can take pedestal seats cause i do not feel too comfortable with all that pressure on one point!  what do you think?

Interesting point, didn't think about that as in a small 13foot boat the bottom doesnt tend to be that reinforced. You could probably try and see if you could put cushions and backrests on the benches but if you have a look at whats on current 13 footers it should give you a better idea.

Regarding the seats I am probably going to end up building some kind of backrest myself and attach it to the current benches,  whilst I am at it I might as well upholster them as well. 

I was thinking of fixing a backrest on each side of the bench....like that I will have 4 'comfortable' seats at least, however I would need to leave the centre of the middle bench with no backrest as it would be very cumbersome to jump over if it had a backrest as well.

With regards to the centre console I called petercraft and he told me that the one of their 15ft boat will be too big for mine,   I then called petecraft and he told me that it should be no problem but it will cost me €175 and to be quite honest it is a bit over my budget at the moment cause then I would also need to but the steering system etc.... which as you know will cost around €350 - €400. So for the time being unless I find something second hand at a decent price I think I will just stick to the old fashioned style
