Albacore - The way I see it

The EU's decision to halt BF Tuna fishing may have a positive impact on the amounts of Albacore in the med. Commercial fishermen fishing for BFT use purse seiner nets to catch tuna. When these nets are deployed, together with BFT, Albacore and spanish mackarel are also caught, along with a number of other pelagic fish. Now that the EU has decided to halt this kind of fishing due to the catch quota of BFT being exceeded, expect more albacore and other pelagic fish, including BFT, to come our way. I remember this same thing happened way back in 1998 or 99, and we locals enjoyed a great year fishing for alungi and were lucky to hook up some spanish mackarel.

Don't think you need wire rigging for Spanish Mackarel. Sure, they have sharp teeth, but so do baracuda and not everyb ody rigs up with wire terminal.
