Hi,
Firstly let me say great forum!
A group of 8 of us are having a "jolly boys outing" in Malta early October and are looking at doing a couple of days sea fishing whilst there. Have found a couple of charters and awaiting costs from them. Can anyone advise what is good to catch at that time of year? We are in the main novice or green fisherman so doubt we will be going after a Great White!
Any advice/tips you can give would b welcome.
Best regards and good luck with the site

You'll be bang in the Lampuki season (that's Dolphin Fish, Dorado or Mahi Mahi) and they should be quite big.

I recommend http://www.mol.net.mt/Fishingmania/index.htm very experienced and ppl seem to be happy.

you might also encounter tuna (bluefin) whilst trolling for dolphin fish

Thanks Guys,
One of our chaps had already contacted "Fishmania" for price along with another couple of companies as we reckon on two boats.
Just to whet the appetite - how big do the Lampuki and Bluefin go that time of year - wanna make sure there is enough for the meal that evening LOL!
Tried your local Lampuki before - very tasty!

blue fin tuna you might find any size from 1 kg to 100kg but dont get your hopes up as you either find them or not !!!
lampuki on the other hand will be about 1-1.5kg
