You can also buy a very small pump of aquariums, only a few euros and put an airstone in the water. It helps a lot and by this i see that the worm stays stronger.

There is no need to change evey day if you have an airstone. It depends on the temp,if it's summer or winter. Now once a week is enough.

Apparently this thing can be up to 2mts long! :o & it appears to be flourescent in the dark, (hence its use night fishing), it must be very similar to "verm" they get in the Channel Islands, which burrows into soft rock, it's irridescent, & can grow up to 1m+ long.
Now I have never used "verm",  nor Hniex tal Imperjal, & I have never been a big fan of soft or peeler crab, if a fish is on the feed, it will take small rag, king rag, lugworm, fresh squid, sandeel, or mackerel strip. I reckon any predator in Maltese coastal waters will take any of the aforementioned, & they will especially take a small fish livebaited.
I have yet to be convinced that Hniex tal Imperjal is the "killer bait" its claimed to be, but I am prepared to be proved wrong, if anybody can outfish me with it ;)

In winter between November and and mid March I maneged to keep it for 2 months in my garage which is a basementand temp. is constant about 15deg celcius, with water changes every forthnight but as soon as tempreture start to rise it gets more difficult to keep. In summer if you manege to keep it more than 3 days alive you are very lucky.

You can freeze it as soon as it dies, when frozen it is best to cut it in small portion and take with you as much as you need, you can't refreeze it. Another method is to cut open the worm from its lenght pin it to a piece of wood put sea salt and leave it in the sun to dry when they become hard and dry store them in a cleane jar. Than when you decide to use  just put it in some sea water few minutes before.

Does anyone know, any people that catch these worms themselves? I heard there is one in Valletta and another in Kalkara. Anyone willing to share their numbers?

Also anyone knows from which shop is the most worth it? (average)

many thanks ;)
